Huntertones’ new album Engine Co. takes a simplified approach; six songs tracked together in the live room of Atomic Studios, a picturesque space residing at the former Van Brunt Street Fire House in Brooklyn, NY. Playing off of each other’s sonic and emotional nuances in tight quarters has always been the core of the Huntertones engine. That engine is on full display in the form of three new original songs “Biff”, “Stede”, and “For Roy”, an update on “No Look” from the 2021 album Time To Play, and fresh arrangements of two classics from legendary New Orleans supergroup, The Meters. This record serves as a reminder both to Huntertones and their listeners that the best way to get to the heart of any song is simply in the moment.
